Sting made one of the most shocking and unexpected debuts in AEW on last week’s episode of Winter is Coming edition of Dynamite. This has certainly created a buzz among the wrestling fans.
He has penned down a multi-year deal and will be a regular face on the shows. However, aged 61, he is unlikely to take any bumps having a history with neck injuries and spinal stenosis.
The Icon had previously announced his retirement from in-ring competition during his WWE Hall of Fame speech in 2016.
As per the reports by Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW is eyeing to make “a star from the old generation of TNT as a regular” as it will help to draw old fans.
AEW had brought wrestling to TNT. Speaking about history, Sting had defeated the legendary wrestler Ric Flair in the final match to be shown on TNT for more than 18 years ago.
If the match ever takes place between Chris Jericho and Sting, it would be the first time that the two wrestling legends each having more than three decades of experience would meet inside the squared circle.
Chris Jericho, who recently celebrated his 50th birthday is a regular performer inside the squared circle. His response to the graphic could be a possible teaser for the fans and the bout is unlikely to take place.
