Viviane Obenauf held in custody over the suspected killing of her husband in Switzerland
Viviane Obenauf (14-6, 7 KOs) who married 61-year-old hotelier Thomas in January, has been linked with the murder of her husband in Interlaken, Switzerland, as claimed by The Daily Star.
According to a Swiss police report on the murder, Obenauf allegedly killed her husband in an apartment they shared in Interlaken, by beating him to death “with a blunt object” and Thomas, who’s full identity has not been disclosed due to the Swiss privacy laws, died of “massive injuries”.
Obenauf is currently held in custody and her rented apartment, as well as a gym she owned, are being investigated by the cops.
A former footballer and Olympic gymnast in her adolescent years, Obenauf took up boxing at 18 years of age and had her first professional bout in 2014 April against Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Amra Okugic.
While the 34-year-old did not clinch any major championship title, Obenauf has faced the likes of Katie Taylor, Ewa Brodnicka and even the WBC and IBO female super-featherweight champion Terri Harper on 2nd November last year, which was also the last time Obenauf was seen in action inside the ring.

The Brazilian took on Chantelle Cameron for the vacant IBO female lightweight title in 2017 December and Maïva Hamadouche for the IBF female super featherweight in the next December and had retired from both fights.
Following the final bout against Harper last year, Obenauf took up a job hospitality industry and opened up her own gym in Switzerland.
