A video clip has been making the rounds where he chipped the ball over an injured player who was lying on the ground as Messi attempted to score a goal for Inter Miami. The incident took place in Inter Miami’s dominating 2-0 win over Real Salt Lake on Wednesday, February 21. However, Lionel Messi gained traction for his actions on the field.

In the first half of the match, Lionel Messi picked up a loose ball in the final third and attempted to run past players, showing aggression in the process. Messi was running in the way of an opponent who was lying injured on the field. He chipped the ball over the player and took his shot at the goal but it was blocked.
Lionel Messi then produced a twisted smile and the whole incident garnered negative reaction from the fans on social media.The video of Messi continuing to play after running into an injured player went viral on TikTok and other social media platforms.
