Former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley, who has one of WWE’s top stars during the Thunderdome Era, is currently injured.
BAYLEY WAS INJURED WHILE TRAINING AT WWE PC
Reports last week suggested a rise in business for the WWE Performance Center, where many WWE main roster superstars were asked to appear and train before the professional wrestling promotion’s return to the road. Bayley was one of the talents who were called to train and she unfortunately suffered an injury, keeping her out of the ring for about nine months.
WWE announced that with “The Role Model” out for quite some time, a suitable replacement for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship match at the upcoming edition of WWE Money In The Bank, in which Bayley was supposed to challenge Bianca Belair for the title.
“WWE Digital has learned that Bayley sustained an injury while training for her WWE Money in the Bank match against Bianca Belair and will be out approximately nine months. A suitable replacement for the SmackDown Women’s Title Match will be announced tonight on FOX,” WWE’s official website announced before this week’s episode of SmackDown Live began.
Bayley, who is the longest reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion, debuted on the main roster in 2016. Since her debut, she has won the WWE Raw Women’s Championship, the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, making her the first women’s Triple Crown Champion and Grand Slam winner in WWE history.
CARMELLA REPLACED BAYLEY AS THE CHALLENGER FOR WWE SMACKDOWN WOMEN’S TITLE
At WWE SmackDown Live, Carmella was announced by authority figure Sonya Deville to be the new challenger for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship. However, the match was pulled from the pay per view event and was instead placed at next week’s episode of WWE’s Friday Night show.
Liv Morgan appeared to interrupt the segment, asking why she did not receive an opportunity herself, despite her constant victories over “The Most Beautiful Woman in WWE”? To it, Deville allowed Morgan a spot in the upcoming Women’s Money In The Bank match. She would replace Carmella, who already received a Championship opportunity.
Morgan then requested Carmella to win the Championship from Belair next week at SmackDown so that she could have the pleasure to cash in on her after her obvious victory in the Women’s Money In The Bank ladder match.
