Milwaukee Bucks justified their tags as favourites in the series with a worthy display after a narrow loss in Game 1.

The number three seed looked at their mighty best and never allowed the Hawks to gain any sort of momentum at all.

The Bucks gained an insurmountable lead across the first three quarters that started with a 12-3 run at the beginning. The hosts managed to stretch the lead to 32 points at the halfway mark of the game. The 32 point lead is now the second-highest deficit at halftime in a conference or division finals game in NBA history.

While the first quarter resulted in the Bucks being slightly ahead, the Hawks were outscored 43-17 in the next quarter which effectively buried the contest.

After thumping in 48 points in the previous fixture, Trae Young, despite top scoring for his side, had a lean evening by his current standards. The youngster could only score 15 points  6-of-16 shooting with three assists. The side had a hard time shooting as they shot 33-of-81 (9-of-36 from deep) and also committed 19 turnovers.

Giannis Antetokounmpo had a solid outing for the Bucks by posting 25 points, nine rebounds and six assists across three quarters. The Greek Freak had support around him as well with Jrue Holiday registering 22 points and seven assists and Khris Middleton putting up 15 points, seven rebounds and eight assists.

The series, now level at one apiece, will shift to number five seed Atlanta Hawks’ turf for the next 2 games. After repeated heartbreaks in the playoffs over the course of the recent past despite a prolific regular season, the Bucks will hope to make something off it this time.
