BATISTA TWEETED HIS DISAPPROVAL OVER THE SUGGESTION

John Cena recently said in an interview: “As somebody who enjoys entertainment, I’m intrigued (at the possibility of working with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson). I feel that would be entertaining. There’s a lot more than my opinion that’s gonna have to work to connect those dots, but I think it would be entertaining. So, I’m in.”

A tweet about John Cena’s intrigue in working on a movie with The Rock in future, a Twitter user decided it would be a good idea to throw Batista, another Hollywood star, in the mix. Batista did not think so.

HE HAS LONG MAINTAINED HIS DESIRE TO WORK WITH GOOD DIRECTORS

Batista has always maintained his desire to work with good directors and actors instead of just being part of high-profit franchises. Instead he wants a name as a talented actor and wants to both educate himself in the art and earn credibility for his performances. He believes Cena and The Rock are professional wrestlers turned movie stars, and he is different from them. He was once a professional wrestler, and now he is a full fledged actor.

“I want good roles. I don’t care about Fast and Furious or Bumblebee. That’s not the kind of stardom I want. I want to be in Dune. I want to work with Denis Villeneuve, Sam Mendes and Jodie Foster. I want to work with Academy Award winners. I’m proud to be a character actor. I want that respect and credibility and education,” he stated in 2019.

“Do not compare me to The Rock or John Cena. Those guys are wrestlers who became movie stars. I’m something else. I was a wrestler. Now, I’m an actor,” He added.

As an actor, Batista has worked in critically praised films such as “Blade Runner 2049” (2017), and with acclaimed directors such as Denis Villeneuve, who directed both BR2049 and the upcoming two-part adaptation of Frank Herbert’s science fiction novel “Dune”.
