Lewis Hamilton Apologizes to Max Verstappen After Collision Sparks Anger in 3-Time World Champion

In a dramatic turn of events during practice at the Imola circuit, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton found themselves entangled in a heated dispute. The incident unfolded during the second practice session for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix on May 17, 2024.

Verstappen, already frustrated by Red Bull’s lack of pace, accused Hamilton of impeding him at the Villeneuve chicane. The Dutchman gestured angrily at Hamilton and drove toward the Mercedes, visibly infuriated. In response, Hamilton extended his hand in apology, but Verstappen was too frustrated to accept it.

Max said, “It’s not the first time. You try to stay calm ofcourse, but it happened again. But I dont want to talk about it too much, because that wasn’t our problem today. We need to fix our speed.”
