On one hand, Jermall Charlo is ready to give up his WBC middleweight title to fight Canelo Alvarez. On the other hand, he is ready to “take the B-Side” to fight one of the greatest middleweights of all time- Gennady Golovkin.

A former IBF junior middleweight champion, Jermall Charlo (31-0, 22 KOs) fought his way into the top of the middleweight division and in April 2018, clinched the vacant green and gold belt against Hugo Centeno Jr.

Since then, the “Future of Boxing” has marked four back to back successful title defenses, and will be defending his coveted WBC belt for the fifth consecutive time against Juan Macias Montiel (22-4-2, 22 KOs) of Mexico on 19th June this year in Houston, Texas.

However, a title reign is not Jermall’s ultimate goal. The undefeated 30-year-old is eager to have his name on the card featuring boxing’s latest and greatest, and for that, he is ready to have all the odds against himself.

“I’m hungry to consider myself one of the best in the world. I’m out to fight the best out there. That’s been the hardest achievement right now,” Jermall said on the podcast, “my team has reached out to guys like [Gennady] Golovkin, Canelo [Alvarez], and [Demetrius] Andrade. Whoever has a belt at 160.”

I’m obviously one of the top-tiers in the division, so it’s not as if they can avoid me. But, of course, I’m one of the most avoided, but all I’ve got to do is keep fighting and keep winning,” the twin brother of unified light middleweight champion Jermell Charlo, added.

While he named all three, the IBF and IBO middleweight champion GGG is peaking Jermall’s top interests ahead of Canelo and “Boo Boo” Andrade, and will even fight the 39 year old Kazakhstani pugilist in a big ring and in any venue that the latter’s team chooses.

“Yeah, [Golovkin is] a fight that I really want, yeah it’s a fight that can be made. It’s just a matter of time,” the American went on, “it’s a matter of how we can get Golovkin in the ring with Jermall Charlo. We both want things our way, A-side, B-side. I’ll take the B-side.

I’ll fight in a big ring if they want to fight in a big ring. I’ll fight in their city if they want to fight in their city. I don’t pick the fights, I’m not into the management group,” added Jermall.
