The club then took the decision to fire the photographer, Matheus Grangeiro who took the picture.
The photographer took to Instagram and expressed himself. He showed gratitude towards the club.
He has been in football for 10 long years but he never experienced such a thing till now. He attacked the club stating that the decision was taken “cowardly”
He said, “In 10 years of football and 26 years of life, they have never done anything so cowardly to me as what happened this Friday. Just thank CRF for the opportunity.”

Flamengo had previously announced that as many as sixteen players of the squad have tested COVID-19 positive.
Rodrigo Dunshee, Vice President for legal affairs of Flamengo had confirmed the news.
He posted on Twitter which read, “Today we have 16 athletes contaminated, also several members of the coaching staff. I tested negative, but I am in isolation.”
You can see the Tweet below:
São 16 atletas contaminados, por enquanto, mais treinador e médico. Essa não é uma simples questão desportiva. Trata-se de uma questão de saúde pública. O resto é clubismo.

This was a reason that triggered the situation and made a negative impact on social media, which caused the club to take the harsh decision towards the photographer.
Rodolfo Landim, President of Flamengo broke his silence and found the photograph to be quite normal after hours of the resigning of the photographer.
He said, “It is obvious that when you take a picture, you don’t wear a mask. I don’t take a photo with a mask. When I take a photo, I take off my mask, hold my breath and take the photo.”
“It happens to everyone. players play without a mask, it is difficult to contain, it is natural. They greet each other, hug each other.”
