WWE fans received a Pay Per View action before the Summerslam season was really put to rest. Payback gave us amongst other solid matches, a trio of title changes, with one of them major, changing the World Title scenario.
Roman Reigns went on to win the WWE Universal Championship in the main event of the show. Earlier in the show, the quickly-made team of Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.

Payback is a pay-per-view event that was initiated by WWE back in 2013. The event ran annually from 2013 to 2017, with the 2017 event being the final event until it was brought back in 2020. The 2020 event is the the sixth event in the Payback chronology.
At SummerSlam, “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt defeated Braun Strowman to win the Universal Championship for the second time. Following the match, Roman Reigns made his return after a five-month hiatus from WWE and attacked The Fiend and Strowman showing a ruthless attitude that made fans wonder at the prospect of a villainous turn for the poorly received character.
On the August 24 episode of Raw, it was announced that The Fiend would defend the title against Strowman and Reigns in a Triple Threat No Holds Barred match at Payback. On the August 28 episode of SmackDown, Reigns signed a heel turn by aligning himself with manager Paul Heyman.

In Payback, Reigns fully cemented himself a villain. He did not appear at first, refusing to sign the contact, leading Braun and ‘The Fiend’ to battle in a gruelling brawl, leading to the implosion of the ring. When considerable damage had been done to both wrestlers, Reigns joined the match, attacking opponents with chair shots and low blows before winning the Championship.
Reigns’s cousin Nia Jax also basked in championship glory following a Women’s Tag Team Title victory over Sasha Banks and Bayley. For her partner Shayna Baszler, it is the first taste of championship gold in the main roster.

It is to see how the fans receive Reigns as a villainous, ruthless Universal champion, and Jax and Baszler as dominant tag team champions.
