‘The Icon’ had proposed a cinematic match, who is gaining popularity these days. However, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon did not buy the idea and nixed the plans.

The clash between the legends would have been a ‘Dream Match’ to witness and when it comes to dream matches, the wrestling fans are always ready for it.

It has been reported as well that the former WWE star had signed with AEW to do “something good” for the fans and this might be his final run in the wrestling industry.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio recently explained the debut of the veteran in AEW. With Christmas arriving soon, the promotion is eyeing to release his merchandise and grab the best out of the Christmas sales.

Meltzer said: “Sting’s debut was very much designed to be there for Christmas season merchandising. Good signs on 12/3 was that the Impact web site crashed and Sting set a Pro Wrestling Tees all-time record for one day sales of any T-shirt in its history.”

It is to be seen what does the star has up his sleeves for the fans or what role will he be playing at the promotion.

At his age of 61, he is unlikely to take a bump, having a history with neck injuries and spinal stenosis, one of the reasons his career fell short at WWE.
