WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins recently made some bold comments on the WWE legend The Rock. It seems that ‘The Visionary’ doesn’t want ‘The Great One’ back in WWE.
The Rock, who recently joined TKO Board of Directors, returned to WWE. 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble match Cody Rhodes seemingly gave up his spot at WrestleMania 40 to make way for The Rock. ‘The American Nightmare’ was anticipated to face the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at ‘The Show of Shows.’ However, all those plans have seemingly changed.
Seth Rollins blasts The Rock
On Wednesday morning, Seth Rollins made an appearance on the NFL Network’s Good Morning Football and shared his thoughts on the WWE WrestleMania 40.
With The Rock replacing Cody Rhodes’ main event spot at WrestleMania 40, there is chance that Rhodes might challenge Rollins for the World Heavyweight Title at the event. ‘The Visionary’ has been pushing Rhodes to face him for weeks now.
During the interview, Rollins noted that while they acknowledge The Rock’s presence, WWE doesn’t necessarily rely on him, given the company’s consistent profitability.
Rollins highlighted his respect for The Rock’s achievements both in and out of WWE but believes that WWE doesn’t need The Rock.
”Hey look man, if The Rock wants to jump on the bandwagon, ride my coattails into Wrestlemania, that’s fine with me. Look I did it, WWE is the hottest it’s ever been. We are selling out arenas, stadiums. We got two massive deals, SmackDown the USA Network and RAW signed the most lucrative television deal in the history of pro wrestling with Netflix. We are living life right now, we are huge.”
“Look at the numbers. Look at who’s been on Monday Night Raw for the last ten years more than anybody. It’s me. I get the credit, not him. So he can come in, he can get what he wants. He can take his little piece, and then he can go back to Hollywood and do this thing because we got this thing. We don’t need you. We love to have you, but we don’t need you, big guy.”
“If @TheRock wants to ride my coattails into Wrestlemania, that’s fine…We don’t need ya…we’d love to have ya… but we don’t need ya, big guy.”
