The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) recently made an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon on Monday. He made his presence felt to promote his latest project. ‘The Great One’ surprised strangers with gifts to spread joy during holiday season.
The main reason The Rock came there was to talk about the 2024 release of the live-action version of his 2016 animated picture Moana. While in New York City, Rock and Fallon went to the well-known FAO Schwarz toy store, where Rock surprised a few customers by buying their holiday gifts.
When The Rock showed up on Friday Night SmackDown on September 15 without any promotion, WWE fans were taken aback. How the appearance came together is revealed by The Great One:
“Here’s the crazy thing about that. We were in Boulder, I was there for College Gameday, and I found out the night before that WWE was going to be in Denver, which is right up the road.
I called my buddy at WWE, Nick Khan, and I said, ‘I heard SmackDown is here, can you confirm that?’ ‘It is.’ ‘Good, The Rock is coming to SmackDown.’
He added, “there’s nothing like going to SmackDown, and laying the SmackDown on their candy asses all night long!”
Rumors suggest that the WWE is still attempting to book The Rock vs. Roman Reigns for WrestleMania and the rumor mill churned with his most recent appearance. Previously, he added fuel to the rumors by saying that Rock vs. Reigns was “locked in” for WrestleMania 39 and that he hasn’t ruled out returning to the ring.
We will have to wait and see if the match takes place at WrestleMania 40.
