Ricardo Rodriguez used to be the former WWE star, Alberto Del Rio’s personal in-ring announcer during their stint in the company. Recently, when he joined VOC Nation when he talked about his career in the adult industry.

Ricardo Rodriguez recalls working behind the scenes in the adult industry

During the interview, Ricardo Rodriguez revealed how he reached WWE and his journey of success. He opened up on socialising and making connections with people. He claimed that has immensely helped him when he landed in WWE.

Ricardo Rodriguez said, “I used to work in the adult industry behind the scenes. I had to deal with a lot of people; you have to learn to be social to deal with clients, to call [other companies], whatever, so you learn to socialize. That helped out with wrestling because you socialize.”

He said that meeting new people and interacting with them helped him gain confidence in his approach.

He continued, “Once I got out there, I got to meet promoters, meet other wrestlers, meet different people, and you have to network. So, that helped out. It was all just the confidence. It’s all the idea of faking it until you’re make it, and that’s what I did when I got signed with the WWE.”

Apart from being a ring announcer, Ricardo Rodriguez also was an aspiring wrestler. He was active as a wrestler in the independent scene but not in WWE.

However, he had wrestled few matches as masked wrestler going by the name, El Local. But could not manage to rise up through the ranks. He was released from the company in 2014.

Rodriguez talked about leaving WWE on bad terms as he did not enjoy his time at the company. He recalled having tiff but he now regrets his actions.

He expressed his desire to join the company back if any opportunity knocks his door and even if the job is behind the scene.

He said, “I didn’t leave on good terms because I was very angry and bitter when I went and asked for my release. I wasn’t happy being there, and I know I said a lot I shouldn’t have; I regret how I said things. I should have taken a different approach. If the opportunity presents itself [to work behind the scenes], I would jump on it immediately.”
