Nick Diaz, a legendary name in the sport of mixed martial arts, is soon set to venture into the silver screen, as the UFC veteran is set to participate in the new film by Jean Claude Van Damme, who himself is a Hollywood legend and an old school of martial arts movies.
According to Matt Staudt, partner of Nick Diaz, he will star in JCVD’s film titled “Darkness of Man” which is being recorded in Los Angeles and does not currently have an estimated release date.
“Get ready for a dark crime story, with Jean Claude Van Damme and the participation of Nick Diaz who did it very well. Nick has an amazing fight scene. In rehearsals, Nick refined his ideas for the film and the recordings came out great. I can’t wait to see the film,” Staudt revealed in a recent post on his Instagram account.
The former Strikeforce, WEC and IFC welterweight champion and UFC belt challenger in the same division, Diaz has not stepped into the Octagon since September 2021. In the fight, he ended a seven-year absence and lost in a rematch against Robbie Lawler at UFC 266.
While he’s currently 39 years old, Diaz does not hide his intention to continue competing in the sport that made him famous worldwide. The Stockton native has a 26-10 record and 2 No Contests, including 13 knockout wins and eight submission finishes.
