The second matchday of Week 17 of the 2020-21 NBA season has concluded and it’s time to take a look back at the scores and highlights of the matches and standings of the teams.
Timberwolves 97-127 Nets
Brooklyn Nets got their 37th win of the season and equaled Philadelphia 76ers’ record atop the Eastern Conference table.
The Nets racked up 73 points in the first half to write off Minnesota Timberwolves. Kevin Durant posted 31 points following his return while rookie Anthony Edwards slammed 27 points in a losing cause.
Pacers 115-126 Clippers
Paul George’s 36 point display gave Los Angeles Clippers their sixth consecutive win. Heading even into the final quarter, Indiana Pacers could only score 18 points in the final quarter compared to Clippers’ 26.
Malcolm Brogdon top scored for the hosts at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse with 29 points.
Raptors 103-108 Hawks
Atlanta Hawks climbed up to the fourth spot in the table following a win against Toronto Raptors at the Amalie Arena.
Clint Capela recorded 21 rebounds while Bogdan Bogdanovic notched 23 points. Pascal Siakam top scored in the game with 30 points to his name.
Hornets 93-101 Lakers
Los Angeles Lakers returned back to winning ways after a vital win over Charlotte Hornets at the Spectrum Center.
Kyle Kuzma led the scoring with 24 points to his name as the visitors look to apply pressure on the Nuggets for the third spot.
Jazz 106-96 Thunder
An even first half was put to rest by the Jazz who scored double in the third quarter compared to the Thunder to extend their lead at the top.
Luguentz Dort posted 42 points in a losing cause for Oklahoma City Thunder. Meanwhile, Georges Niang and Rudy Gobert recorded 24 rebounds together for the Jazz.
Suns 106-86 Heat
Leading by 8-points in the fist quarter, Miami Heat were never in the contest since and lost convincingly to Phoenix Suns at the Talking Stick Resort Arena.
This marked Suns’ 3rd win in a row as they continue to tail league leaders Utah Jazz.
TrailBlazers 115-116 Celtics
Portland Trailblazers and Boston Celtics played out a thriller at the Moda Center. The game ended in the favour of the Celtics by just a point in the end.
Damian Lillard recorded 28 points and 10 assists in a losing cause. On the other hand, Jayson Tatum continued his rick vein of form after scoring 32 points, out of which 25 came in the second half.
