Naomi Osaka is currently in the US, where she is trying to fix a problem that she has with her Achilles. The Japanese sensation does not seem set to play in Wimbledon also this year. During the Roland Garros, Naomi said that Wimbledon without points seems to be an exhibition and she was not sure she would play.
In the meantime, Naomi posted this video of her training underwater, trying to help her Achilles to heal. The 24-year-old took to Twitter to share a video of her rehab session. She said, “Here’s me running on a underwater treadmill because my Achilles is being stubborn still. I must be aging or something.”

The Japanese star has been troubled by her Achilles for quite some time now. Before Roland Garros, she withdrew from the Italian Open due to this problem. Talking about this injury after her exit from the Madrid Open, Osaka said,
“Yeah, I felt something in my Achilles after my last match, and like I wasn’t really able to hit yesterday because I wanted it to go away.” Further, she added, “Honestly, I have had it before, like maybe two years ago I think after Miami or something. But I can’t imagine that it will be a huge problem unless something significant happens, but I think for right now, just like learning how to move forward with like everything.”
Naomi Osaka’s 2022 in a snapshot
Naomi Osaka has had quite a disappointing season by her standards. Earlier this year, she failed to defend her Australian Open title after losing in the third round against Amanda Anisimova. As a result, she dropped out of the top-50 of the WTA rankings. Further, she had another disappointing campaign, this time at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.
She found some joy in Miami, making it to the finals before losing out to Iga Swiatek in the summit clash. However, in the recently concluded French Open, she had a first-round exit, losing against Amanda Anisimova. Recently, Naomi shared glimpses of her rehab sessions.
