It all started with a phone call when Kyle Larson decided to give Keith Kunz a famed Midget car owner a call on Tuesday at 8:52 a.m. Kyle Larson went on to ask his former owner if a car was available for him. Kunz answered his call with open arms and even had a spare car available for Larson. Tanner Carrick was destined to drive the car in the Invitational Race of Champions on Monday night but  Carrick wasn’t selected for the race, thus the car was left without a purpose until Kyle Larson called.

Fans are divided over Kyle Larson’s Chili Bowl return

Kyle Larson won the Chili Bowl in 2020 and 2021, then he criticized the tournament purse amounts and finally went on to make a shocking comeback to the Chili Bowl this season

fans have divided opinions on this issue. Some  fans are excited about Kyle Larson’s return but some are going to the extent of calling him a ‘hypocrite’

“Didn’t he bash Chili Bowl bc it pay enough for him…” one user commented

“Yes he did, both the event & the Hahn family, who he previously praised for launching him to the next level. If he had a problem w/ the purse he could have helped to raise it but that doesn’t benefit him so doubtful but he’s coming back to try to take the “small purse” from another driver.” another X user replied.

many showed their appreciation towards the racer

” yeaaah…. the goat is back”

even though Larson’s return has received mixed reactions, his comeback to the Chili Bowl will be a treat for the racing fandom.
