Finn Bálor has returned to the main roster through a remarkable thrashing of Sami Zayn, and SmackDown seems to be his home now. On “Talking Smack”, The former WWE Universal Champion explained his reasons behind the return.
FINN BÁLOR RECEIVED MAJOR FAN REACTION ON HIS MAIN ROSTER RETURN
On the latest episode of WWE SmackDown Live, one that marked the return of the WWE Universe and the permanent absence of Thunderdome, the return of “The Prince Of NXT” was the biggest talking point. With Sami Zayn playing the conspiracy card in the middle of the ring, Bálor returned and downed the resident conspiracy theorist and documentary filmmaker of WWE.
Bálor received major reaction from the returning WWE fans in the arena and it seems that he will be seen as a babyface and a regular member of the SmackDown roster.
Bálor’s journey back to WWE NXT, that came after his main roster career never really took off, or rather recovered following his injury, was successful. He managed to reach atop the NXT ladder and win their top singles championship once again. With nothing more to win in the black-and-gold brand, it seems reasonable for him to try build a legacy in the main roster as well.
HE SEEMS TO BE A MAN WITH A PLAN
On Talking Smack, Bálor, seemingly continuing a babyface character, said that it was good to be back in the main roster and the appearance of fans added to the experience, to the extent that energy was still flowing through his entire body.
When Kayla Braxton asked him his reasoning behind the return, Bálor sounded confident about having a plan, one marked by a boast of his past achievements. He said: “Obviously, there is always a plan. I went to NXT, I became the NXT Champion. I moved to RAW, became the first Universal Champion, became the two-time Intercontinental Champion. I went back to NXT and won the NXT Championship.”
He then went on to ask the audience to buckle their seat belts, as he would push them to a ride. “So, the reason that I’m here on SmackDown is to win championships. Buckle your seat belts; we’re going for a ride!” he said.
