Impact Wrestling is interested to sign Buddy Murphy, who was recently released by WWE.
MURPHY WON A NUMBER OF CHAMPIONSHIPS IN WWE
Throughout his WWE career, Murphy has been known as a talented professional wrestler with an ability to put together excellent matches, an opinion that strengthened following his stint in 205 Live, the cruiserweight division show of the promotion.
Murphy managed to achieve a bit in his WWE career where he worked from 2013 until his release in 2021. Much of his WWE career was spent in NXT, where he was once part of an important tag team alongside Wesley Blake. The team won the NXT Tag Team Championships, making him the first Australian Champion in the history of the promotion.
The team, once managed by Alexa Bliss, dissolved, and both him and Blake became bit-part players in the black-and-gold brand. In 2018, Murphy, whose real name is Matthew Adams, was called up as a part of WWE 205 Live, where he became a crucial superstar. He won the WWE Cruiserweight Championship later that year, and was drafted to SmackDown Live after losing the title. In the main roster, he managed to win the Raw Tag Team Championships alongside Seth Rollins.
IMPACT WRESTLING IS INTERESTED IN HIM
Thus, it is no surprise that the Australian would be a hot commodity following his release. Recently released WWE stars such as Andrade, Chelsea Green and Mickie James has already made their future path clear by signing for other professional wrestling promotions. While Murphy has not appeared anywhere yet, many promotions are reportedly viewing him as a potential addition to their respective rosters. According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Impact Wrestling are interested in him.
While Murphy has not joined a professional wrestling promotion yet, one of his future matches has been confirmed and he has started hinting an important step in his career. He has changed the profile pictures of all of his social media accounts with the date 8/31/21. The date marks the end of his 90-day non-compete clause with his previous employers. He was released on June 2, and from August 31st he would be free to appear for any promotion.
HIS FIRST POST-WWE MATCH IS NOW CONFIRMED
Speaking of his future match, it will be against former FTW Champion Brian Cage, a professional wrestler contracted to AEW. The match will be held on September 18, at the 2300 Arena, Philadelphia, for Battleground Championship Wrestling.
