Dak Prescott, the star quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, recently experienced a life-changing moment that transcends the football field. On Thursday, February 29, he and his girlfriend, Sarah Jane Ramos, welcomed their first child together—a beautiful daughter named MJ.
Dak Prescott explains how fatherhood changed him
Speaking to reporters at NorthPark Center, Dak Prescott candidly shared his feelings about becoming a father. He described the profound impact that little MJ has had on his life. It’s not just about football anymore; it’s about nurturing and caring for another human being. “I feel different,” Prescott admitted. “Especially when you wake up in the morning and see that baby. You understand the responsibility. Everything I’ve always wanted for myself, I want even more for her. Yeah, it’s special.”
Baby MJ arrived ahead of her due date in March, catching the couple by surprise. Prescott, known for his leadership on the field, now faces a new kind of leadership role—one that extends beyond touchdowns and game-winning drives. Changing diapers? Well, that’s a skill he’s learning too. “Just a handful,” he joked when asked how many diapers he’s tackled so far. “Changed the first one, then about two or three after that. I try to pass that job along.”
The significance of MJ’s birth is amplified by the fact that she shares a connection to Prescott’s late mother. It’s a circle of life—a tribute to the past and a promise for the future. As Dak Prescott embraces fatherhood, he’ll undoubtedly bring the same determination and passion to parenting as he does to the football field. The Cowboys faithful eagerly await his return to the game, but for now, Dak Prescott is officially a proud girl dad.
Dek Prescott opens on a potential contract extension.
Dak Prescott is coming off a great NFL season, but his contract with the Cowboys is set to expire in 2024. While talking with the media Prescott explained how he is looking forward to extending his contract with the franchise.
“I’m definitely confident,” Prescott said. “Obviously it helps the team and it’s important for the numbers so I think that is a process. Both sides understand that. Everything is great. It will happen.”
