Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah and Dani Ceballos were involved in a major bust-up during the team’s warm-up session moments before their Premier League clash against Fulham.

Both the players were named on the bench by manager Mikel Arteta for the first clash of the season. While the playing eleven were in the dressing room, the seven substitutes were seen on the pitch performing a warm-up rondo routine in the sunny Craven Cottage.

The frustration of being benched by the manager seemed to boil over as Ceballos, placed in the middle, heaved forward for an aggressive tackle to retrieve back the ball from Nketiah.

Nketiah responded to the challenge with a few words, following which the Spanish midfielder proceeded to shove the youngster.

Teammates had to intervene in order to separate the duo and calm things down. Watch the entire incident right below:

Rio Ferdinand claimed that this minor bust-up should not be escalated as it is quite a common instance during such team drills. He said:

“This is part of it. I think at the end of the day, sometimes it gets heated.

“You’d see that probably once or twice a week at the training ground, it’s just that we happen to be here to see it. “I’m sure Mikel Arteta wouldn’t be too disappointed with that.”

Arsenal begin the season on a relatively bright note

Arsenal striker Lacazette makes Premier League history with opening goal of 2020-21 campaign | Goal.com

Arsenal took an early lead through Alexandre Lacazette against Fulham and came close to doubling their lead on multiple occasions. The Spanish manager handed debuts out to Brazilian duo Gabriel and Willian. The former Chelsea winger came close to scoring his first goal for Arsenal, but his free-kick rattled across the pole. Mikel Arteta would be hoping that the team kills the game off in the second half.

With the open goal finish in the eighth minute, the French striker became the only player to register the first goal of the season twice. Lacazette had scored the first goal of the campaign back in 2017 against Leicester City at the Emirates stadium.
