Maurizio Arrivabene, the former team principal of the Scuderia Ferrari Formula One team, is set to take over as the new CEO of football giants Juventus FC, the latest reports have confirmed.
Arrivabene arrived at Ferrari back in 2014, as a successor to Marco Mattiacci and held his position with the team until the 2018 season when he was replaced by Mattia Binotto in January the following year.
“After four years of untiring commitment and dedication, Maurizio Arrivabene is leaving the team,” the official statement from Ferrari read at that time, “The decision was taken together with the company’s top management after lengthy discussions related to Maurizio’s long-term personal interests as well as those of the team itself.”
“Ferrari would like to thank Maurizio for his valuable contribution to the team’s increasing competitiveness over the past few years and wish him the best for his future endeavours.”
Well, since parting ways with the Prancing Horse, Arrivabene’s future endeavors have been dry. After his exit from the F1 team, the Italian had failed to land a job in any sports team, let alone F1 or in the motorsport scene.
As reported by calciomercato.com, Gazzetta dello Sport has claimed that the Serie A giants have shortlisted four options to determine their next CEO. Those are- Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali, Juventus FC scout Matteo Tognozzi; Giovanni Manna, a youth coach at Juventus, and last but not the least Arrivabene, who has been an independent board member at the club since 2012.
However, it is speculated that the 64-year-old has already been appointed as the CEO, courtesy of his experience at Scuderia Ferrari and additional, for having good relations with Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli.
The official announcement of the same is reportedly scheduled for Friday.
