Xavier Worthy stuns everyone by setting 40-yard dash record of 4.21 seconds in the NFL combine

Xavier Worthy, a former Texas Longhorns wide receiver, has become the fastest man ever to feature in the NFL scouting combine. Worthy went on to beat John Ross’ record from 2017 by .01 seconds. Worthy was clocked at a surprising 4.21 seconds on his second attempt. According to Next Gen Stats Worthy reached a speed of 24.21 miles per hour or 38.96 kilometers per hour.

On his first attempt, the wide receiver bested everyone else on the field by finishing the run in just 4.25 seconds. The 20-year-old also recorded a 10-yard split of 1.45 seconds, which was the fastest split of the weekend. Worthy went at it again and was quick beyond belief this time.

His second run was initially measured at 4.22, it was updated a hundredth of a second faster when made official. Xavier Worthy was already getting attention from some of the top NFL teams, even before the combine took place, and now after the combine Worthy’s draft stock is set to go through an even major boost.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and defensive end Charles Omenihu took to social media to express awe at Xavier Worthy’s lightning-quick run.

During the previous season for Texas, Worthy mounted 75 receptions for 1,014 yards and five touchdowns en route to the Big 12 title and the team’s first College Football Playoff appearance in the history of the competition. He’ll be a name to watch for in the first round of this year’s draft, which will take place April 25.

Xavier Worthy needs to work hard and stay focused as he has a lot of potential in him and has the capability of becoming one of the legends of the sport if he manages to keep his feet on the ground and not let the fame get into his head.
