In one of the most bizarre news to concern the professional wrestling industry in the recent days, a man from Bradford, UK has legally changed his name to John Cena.

John Cena

LEWIS OLDFIELD, 23, CHANGED HIS NAME TO JOHN CENA

Lewis Oldfield, a 23 year old restaurant shift leader from the West Yorkshire city legally took on the name of the 16 times World Champion over a drunk play-fighting dare. While he initially decided to tattoo the name of “The Leader Of Cenation” onto his body, he finally decided to keep his word and officially change his name.

Apparently, after having a few drinks, they got drunk and started wrestling each other playfully. They were trying to do it in the WWE style, with one of the friends, emulating a WWE ring announcer, declared the arrival of John Cena. According to Oldfield, one thing happened after the other, and soon he was challenged to change his name to John Cena.

“We’d had a few drinks and were play-wrestling. We were just messing around, pretending to do announcements like in WWE, and one of my friends was introducing John Cena. “One thing led to another, and they dared me to change my name to John Cena,” He recounted.

“JOHN CENA” IS NOT EVEN A FAN OF PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING

He is not even a fan of professional wrestling and his decision to change his name has led his mother to laugh. However, he has decided not to tell anything to his more serious father. With the media coverage, including from some of UK’s leading tabloids, one can totally believe the circumstance of his father to have known of the name change by now. In any way, he is going to keep the new name.

“My mum couldn’t stop laughing at me when she found out. My dad’s more serious, so I’ve not told him yet. I actually don’t mind the name, so I’m going to keep it,” he said.
