Here’s why Top Flight were absent at AEW Revolution

AEW tag-team Top Flight consisting of real-life brothers Darius and Daune Martin were not featured during Sunday’s AEW Revolution. Many fans had questions in mind as to why they went missing from the show, aid as it turns out, Darius Martin has reportedly been injured.

Reports say Darius Martin has sustained an injury

There were several teams, more than 15 teams had competed in the Casino Tag Team Battle Royal at AEW Revolution pay-per-view, which took place on Sunday. The match saw high pace tag-team action which resulted Death Triangle’s PAC and Rey Fenix winning after Fenix last eliminated Jungle Boy. The team have now secured a shot at the tag-team titles in the future and will face The Young Bucks.

During the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer opened up on Top Flight member, Darius Martin. He stated that Martin is suffering from a twisted knee. This is the reason that Top Flight were missing from the match.

The absence of the young tag-team was a major one as they would have added more excited to the tag-team battle royale but it was a shame that Top Flight could not compete.

Though it has been found out what the injury is but how much severe is the injury is not known as of yet. AEW has not yet officially addressed the injury that Darius has suffered, and he has neither commented on social media regarding the same.

The injury news was revealed after NWA Women’s World Champion Serena Deeb revealed she underwent a scope on her knee. Tony Khan also revealed that Anthony Bowens is out with an injury as well.

Top Flight in AEW

Darius and Daunte Martin are the young brothers who are living their dreams of becoming pro wrestlers and with the tag-team they have formed known as Top Flight, they have lived up to the name of their team.

They had made their debut on Dark, squaring off against Dark Order members Stu Grayson and Evil Uno. They also went on to face The Young Bucks on Dynamite a few weeks later from their debut.They registered their first win against Baron Black and Frankie Thomas on the AEW Dark’s edition of November 10.

Top Flight are trained by former WWE Superstar Ken Anderson and had started teaming together in 2016 for independent shows in their native Minnesota area. They have been mostly inactive in 2020, only wrestling for a top indie promotions, including Ireland’s Over the Top in February (as The Flip Bros), the Illinois-based AAW, Game Changer Wrestling, and Black Label Pro.
