Vince McMahon had adviced to ‘kill The Undertaker’

The Great Khali made his memorable debut against The Undertaker on the edition of SmackDown after WrestleMania 22. He had interfered the match between The Undertaker and Mark Henry and attacked The Phenom.

The face off between the two behemoths is one of the iconic moments in WWE and it overshadowed The Undertaker’s presence.

The Great Khali recently spoke to Rewind Recap Relive, and recalled what Vince McMahon and Michael Hayes said before going out for his debut.

The former World Heavyweight Champion revealed how Vince McMahon reached out to him about his debut and Michael Hayes told him about the ‘big day’. He was instructed to ‘kill The Undertaker.

He said: “Vince said, ‘I want to debut you’ but he didn’t say who is my opponent. He gives me a call and says, ‘come to TV after WrestleMania.’ Same day, Michael Hayes said, ‘You have a big day. You need to go out during Mark Henry and fighting and you need to ‘Kill The Undertaker.’

He added: “I was so happy. He tried to explain and Vince said, ‘Yes! Kill him hard! Not easy.’ That moment was really great. All the world knew who was Great Khali. I want to thank Vince McMahon and WWE for making Great Khali. I appreciate Vince McMahon and WWE.”

Making debut against The Undertaker is itself iconic

Not many got the opportunity to go head to head against The Phenom and making a debut against him is itself a big achievement. The Great Khali made an impact immediately following his debut. The Phenom and The Punjabi Playboy have locked horns multiple times. Khali’s undefeated streak was conquered by The Deadman and that is how they ended their prominent rivalry.
