Thiago Silva, the PSG defender was a part of the PSG squad when they saw 1-0 defeat against the German giants, Bayern Munich in the Champions League final at Estadio da Luz in Lisbon.
Thiago Silva to Chelsea?
Thiago Silva has played a major role in PSG’s defense along the years. The match against Bayern Munich was his last one
in PSG kit, as he bids farewell to the French giants. His contract expired on Sunday after the final whistle.
Thiago Silva has been the skipper of the team for a long time and also led his team to the Champions League final on Sunday. He wore the captain’s armband going into the match, making him the first Brazilian captain the squad at Champions League final.
The 35 year old is now a free agent and considering a move to the Premier League side, Chelsea. He could pen down one year contract with the Blues.
Chelsea have already bagged the signings of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner. They are in hot pursuit of Leicester City’s left back, Ben Chillwell and Bayer Leverkusen’s midfielder, Kai Havertz. Now, it seems they have added another name that is Thiago Silva on the shopping list.
Chelsea are looking to make the most out of the Summer transfer window. They have been dealing with the problems in their defense. They have conceded 54 Premier League goals in the last season, which is 21 more than the League Champions, Liverpool. Thus they are eyeing to sign the Brazilian defender.
Though PSG lost the match, Thiago Silva might have proven with his performance on Sunday, that he still has lot to provide. He had amazingly marked the Bayern Munich striker, Robert Lewandowski restricting him from scoring. He also made a significant block to deny Kingsley Coman.
After the defeat, Thiago Silva said,”It was my last game in Paris. I am sad.I apologise to the fans. I thank all the fans for their love. I’ll come back, with another role, in this club I loved.”
