Last year was a roller coaster ride for the two Hendrick Motorsports stars Alex Bowman and Chase Elliott. But the year was overall fruitful for the team as the rest of the two HMS drivers were consistently winning the races for the team. Among the Willia Byron was the prominent one with six victories under his name in his single season. Again he similarly started off the 2024 season in the same fashion with two wins in his first six races.

However one of the most successful drivers revealed that he has a lot to do and shared insights on his next task.

In a recent post on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, William Byron shared the stats that Trey Ryan shared before on X and said that he and his crew chief Rudy talked about the stats and later revealed his strategy and the team’s off-season preparation for their success. Byron also said that they are focused on their upcoming races rather than stuck with a race like Phenix where they couldn’t contribute more.

William Byron was heard saying, “I don’t think we allowed ourselves to get in a slump after Phoenix and think what could have been. We just focused on what is the next task at hand and how can we come out of the gate strong.”

William Byron secured a solid starting position by qualifying in fifth place. When the race went green for the 312-lap event, the 26-year-old driver settled into the sixth position in the No. 24 RAPTOR Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. Throughout the race, Byron demonstrated consistent lap times and maintained his position among the leaders.

After surviving a series of cautions, Byron found himself in third place during the final caution. He made a pit stop for tires, fuel, and adjustments. Unfortunately, a chaotic restart dropped him back to 23rd. Byron fought hard to regain track position, ultimately finishing in 18th place when the checkered flag flew.
