The Rock was a great prospect in the field of football during his time in college. The Great One ended up becoming a legendary wrestler and rose to prominence through his showcase of performance in the squared circle.
Speaking about his football career, he was talented player and received offers from many Division I collegiate programs.
He did a full scholarship from the University of Miami where he mostly played as a defensive tackle.In 1991, he was on the Miami Hurricanes’ national championship team.
During his stint in 1994, Bumble Bee tuna company had produced a set of cards with the team’s players. That lineup included other notable names like Ray Lewis and Warren Sapp, Rohan Marley, Bob Marley’s son, was also on the team.
Recently, PWCC auctions sold this card for a staggering $13,988 at the end of an intense battle on the auction block. In 2014, the same card PSA 10 sold for $4,228.
TMZ had reported that the 24-card sheet was handed out during the Orange Bowl and a lot of cards were drenched during a rainy day and got ruined. People did not know who the players would turn out to be until today.
There are only fifty of those Dwayne Johnson cards from the University of Miami which are having existence.
The Rock might not be a hit in the world of football but following his brief career as a football player, he excelled in the world of professional wrestling. He went onto become one of the top stars of WWE.
He makes sporadic appearances in WWE and tried his luck in Hollywood as an actor as well, reaching the heights of success in that field too.
