Lionel Messi brought the football world to a stalling halt with his departure from Barcelona and imminent move to PSG. The winger was unveiled by the club yesterday and was seen holding a jersey with the Number 30 on it. The choice of the number brought upon a witty remark by Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry.
The legendary player was renowned for his iconic No.10 shirt that he inherited at Barcelona. While his PSG teammate and close friend Neymar offered the No.10 shirt at the club, Messi declined the prospect and chose to go with No.30, the same kit number he had on in his youth career.
Coincidentally, No.30 happens to be Steph Curry‘s jersey number at Golden State Warriors. The three-time NBA winner but in a Tweet commending Messi’s taste and wished him good luck for his latest chapter in his iconic career. He captioned the post: Messi has some good taste I see. Good luck at PSG my guy. Have a look at the post below:

Expectations are high from Messi and co. under Pochettino
Messi reunites with his former teammate Neymar and is set to compete for all the trophies under Mauricio Pochettino in Paris. The Ligue 1 giants already roped in several key players like Achraf Hakimi, Giorgino Wijnaldum, Gianluigi Donnarumma, and Sergio Ramos.
The legendary player expressed his pleasure in having joined the team and claimed that PSG matched his ambitions. Messi is currently eyeing a record seventh Ballon d’Or coming off the back of a stellar season on a personal level which culminated with a maiden Copa America triumph. He also aims to add another Champions League title under his belt having won his last one in 2015 alongside Neymar.
Stephen Curry, on the other side, gears up for the upcoming NBA season. The Warriors have missed out on the playoffs for the last two years. While they finished at the bottom of the Western Conference table last year, this time around they came close to making it to the postseason. Having made it into the play-in tournament, defeats to Los Angeles Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies sealed their exit.
They will welcome back Klay Thompson into the outfit once again having missed two seasons in a row. The franchise are also looking into finalizing some trade deals as well.
