Sami Zayn may run his mouth as much as he likes as he plays an arrogant, irritating heel on WWE Smackdown, but he has respect for his fellow wrestlers. One wrestler, in particular, is one of his favourites and the one he considers to be the best in-ring performer of this generation.
ZAYN CONSIDERS BRYAN AS THE FINEST WRESTLER OF HIS GENERATION
Daniel Bryan, who has faced Zayn multiple times in the WWE ring, is Zayn’s choice for the best in-ring performer of the generation. He is not alone in his views, however, as Bryan is almost universally considered to be one of the all-time greats of pro-wrestling and while once known as an in-ring wizard, has now proved himself to be a complete package of a pro-wrestler.
In-ring, Bryan is considered one of the best of all times, with many of his matches garnering acclaim amongst the fans and critics combined. Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s award of Best Technical Wrestler Of The Year is synonymous with Bryan, who won it multiple times, to the point that Dave Meltzer changed the name of the award to Bryan Danielson Award.
ZAYN WENT ON TO TWEET SOME PRAISE FOR HIS OPPONENT
After facing Bryan at Smackdown, Zayn went on to tweet some praise about the opponent he once faced at the “Grandest Stage Of Them All”. As long as he runs his mouth as a heel, Zayn confirmed his belief on Bryan as the best performer of his generation. Alluding to Bryan’s comments about not planning to wrestle for much longer, he commented that this very well may have been their last encounter and it was an absolute privilege to share a ring with one of the all-time greats.
Even after all the praise he lavished on his opponent, Zayn, a heel, did not forget to add a cheeky comment that it was he, and not Bryan, who went on to win the match.
“As much as I run my mouth, it is always an absolute privilege to be able to get in the ring with Daniel Bryan. You never know if or when it might happen again. He is, in my opinion, the best in ring performer of our generation. Still it should be noted, I won the match,” Zayn tweeted.
