As per the reports of Ringside News, Kevin Owens is set to be the No.1 Contender for the WWE Universal title, held by Roman Reigns. On the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Kevin Owens had an angle with Reigns’ cousin, Jey Uso and The Tribal Chief himself.

The opening segment saw Reigns cut a promo and stating that Jey Uso looks weak and talents in the locker room don’t fear them, which is a sign of disrespect to The Tribal Chief and their family.

An angry and confused Jey Uso put out his frustrations on Otis, who was making his way to the ring. Uso brutally assaulted him with a steel chair. He wanted to send a statement to the people at the back with his fierce actions.

Daniel Bryan got a title shot against the WWE Intercontinental Champion, Sami Zayn. After the match resulted in a count-out, Jey Uso once again turned up and this time attacked Bryan until Kevin Owens arrived at the aid of Bryan.

Kevin Owens then squared off against Jey Uso in the main event of the night. During the match, Uso hit Owens with a chair causing the match to end in a disqualification.
