Following the humiliating 8-2 defeat in the Champions League quarter final against Bayern Munich, Quique Setien was relieved of his duties. President, Josep Maria Bartomeu has already confirmed the arrival of Ronald Koeman. However, the official announcement is yet to be made. Henrik Larsson is the potential name who could assist the Dutch in the managerial role.

Henrik Larsson, former Helsingborgs boss and the Dutch, Ronald Koeman were played along each other during their playing career at Feyenoord. Both had their stints at FC Barcelona during their career.

Following his time at Celtic, Henrik Larsson joined FC Barcelona in 2004. There he made 40 appearance, scoring 13 goals. He won La Liga twice and Champions League once as the part of the squad. Following his announcement of departure, FC Barcelona superstar, Ronaldinho said, “With Henrik leaving us at the end of the season this club is losing a great scorer, no question. But I am also losing a great friend. Henrik was my idol and now that I am playing next to him it is fantastic.”

Henrik Larsson scored his debut goal for his National team, Sweden in 1993. He has 37 goals to his name in 106 matches for the National side. He was part of the Sweden squad when they finished third place in World Cup 1994. He was named the Greatest Swedish Footballer of the Last 50 Years in 2003.

After his retirement, he had brief stints as a manager at Swedish sides with the likes of Landskrona BoIS, Falkenbergs and his last managed team, Helsingborgs IF. He has been out of touch from football for one year.

Now, with potential arrival of Henrik Larsson, we have a reunion on our hands and it is to be seen how the former teammates, Larsson and Koeman pair up.
