WWE star Roman Reigns surprisingly introduced a new theme song on this week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
Roman Reigns completes the whole gimmick change
Roman Reigns had turned heel last year but he has using the rendition of Shield’s theme song known as Truth Reigns. But some believed that it did not suit The Tribal Chief with the change in character he had undergone.
He faced off against Daniel Bryan with his WWE Universal title on the line and successfully defended it. While making the entrance, he came out with the new entrance music and fans were shocked to hear it as it is unusual to their ears. The change has been on the cards for quite some time now.
Roman Reigns who considers himself to be The Head of the Table was needed a change in the theme song given the fact that he had changed his gimmick. He had also stated in an interview that the making of new theme song was in progress and it had to be perfectly in sync with his character.
Roman Reigns explains why it took so long
He had said: “Yeah, we’re working on it. It’s not easy. I’m not gonna just… with this character, it’s gotta be the right vibe. I can’t, you know, be… you can’t just hire a rapper… it can’t just be some rap music.”
WrestleMania is an event of surprises and many had been speculating Reigns to come out with the new theme song but the WWE Universal Champion had stuck to the old one and used Truth Reigns at WrestleMania 37.
At the event he achieved a dominant victory over Daniel Bryan and WWE Hall of Famer Edge. He had issued a challenge to Bryan to face him on this week’s Friday Night SmackDown and he chose to debut his new entrance song on the show.
It is noted that he has been waiting for the best opportunity and the moment to finally introduce the new theme songs. Apparently fans have liked the entrance theme.
With Daniel Bryan out of blue brand as per the stipulation of the match, it seems Cesaro is going to get a shot at the title. He had come out to save Bryan who was attacked by Reigns post the title defense.
However, Jey Uso had also come out in aid of Reigns and assaulted Bryan with a chairshot and there was nothing Cesaro could do about it as he was tied to the ropes.
