The two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has been one of the closest friends of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. ‘The Nature Boy’ had an illustrious career and he has also recently expressed his desire to get back to the ring.
Ric Flair sends an emotional message to Vince McMahon
The veteran star is currently making appearances in different wrestling shows after being released from WWE. He had asked for the release and was eventually granted by the company. During his appearance at NWA 73, Flair sent a heartfelt message to Vince McMahon.
McMahon and Flair have known each other for decades and they have nothing but the utmost respect for each other. The Nature Boy showed his gratitude to the WWE Chairman during a promo he cut at NWA 73. He also named some WWE legends with whom he has shared the ring during his time in the company. He was also thankful to her wife, Wendy.
Here’s what Flair said:
“I want to thank my beautiful wife, Wendy. Every time I fell down, she picked me up. just like Triple H picked me up, just like Shawn picked me up, just like Taker picked me up, just like Austin picked me up. Just like everybody. Vince McMahon, I love you, thank you. That’s why I’m here. That’s why I’m here. And you know what, Vince McMahon’s not gonna watch it but he’s gonna hear about it. He’s gonna say, Ric Flair’s back where he belongs.”

Vince McMahon had signed Ric Flair to WWE back in the early 90s and ‘Naitch’ had won the WWE title by outlasting 29 other stars to win the 1992 Royal Rumble match. He later returned to WCW. Flair returned to WWE shortly after McMahon purchased WCW.
He was featured in a retirement match against Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 24 in 2008, which he lost. He had been away from WWE for a long time until returning in 2012 and was heavily involved.
His final storylines saw him in a romantic angle with Lacey Evans while being in a feud with his daughter and WWE star, Charlotte Flair. But, the storyline was dropped after Evans announced her pregnancy. Flair had later lambasted the feud as he expressed being uncomfortable during the storyline.
