Kansas City Chiefs dressing room may be in a bit of worry as the latest reports have surfaced regarding Patrick Mahomes, claiming that the stalwart quarterback is still placed in concussion protocol, as well as dealing with some trouble in his foot.
Coming off of a win over Cleveland Browns in the Divisional Round, defending champions Chiefs have just one hurdle before appearing for their second consecutive Super Bowl, that is, their upcoming Conference Championship clash against Buffalo Bills this Sunday.
However, Patrick Mahomes exited the pitch against Browns after clashing with linebacker Mack Wilson while rushing for a first down and suffered a concussion. While he still remains in the concussion protocol, new reports suggest that the QB has cleared major steps and currently is symptom free.

Patrick Mahomes clears ‘major steps’ in concussion protocol but has a foot issue
The claim was first made by NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, who asserted that the team is focusing to expand his activity to check if the symptoms return or continue to persist.
Moreover, Adam Schefter of ESPN further stated that Mahomes is expected to return to practice on Wednesday, but mentioning about a foot issue that the quarterback is currently dealing with.
While he did not confirm a start from Mahomes on Sunday, Schefter implied that the player will still need to clear some more steps before the team can pit him against the Bills, and the Wednesday training is one good step towards the ‘hope and optimism’.
“Because of the protocol, it’s a no-brainer from the coach’s standpoint,” head coach Andy Reid said on Monday, “I mean, you don’t have to think about it, you just have to go forward and make sure you have an answer if he’s there, have an answer if he’s not there.
“I can’t tell you from a medical standpoint where he’s at. I mean, I don’t know that. So, that’s their decision and I just follow it,” Reid added.
Before he was taken to the dressing room last Sunday, Mahomes had completed 21 of 30 passes, clocking 255 passing yards with a touchdown pass.
