Neymar, the PSG star was one of the five players who saw red card in the injury time when a fight broke out between the PSG players and Marseille players as the Brazilian accused Alvaro Gonzalez who allegedly made racial comments. PSG hosted Marseille in Le Classiquea at Parc des Princes. The match finished with the visitors clinching a 1-0 victory.

PSG’s Neymar, Layvin Kurzawa, Leandro Paredes and Marseille’s Jordan Amavi, Darío Benedetto were all shown the red card by the referee Jerome Brisard in the injury time.

In the 96th minute of the match, Neymar was seen having a tiff with Marseille player, Alvaro Gonzalez. After the goal-kick, when the ball was in mid-air, Dario Benedetto shoved Leandro Paredes in the back and the fight broke out between the players.

Leandro Paredes punched Dario Benedetto and apparently hit a headbutt on Alvaro Gonzalez. Layvin Kurzawa and Marseille’s Jordan Amavi exchanged blows as well.

Later, after the VAR check, Neymar was proved to have punched Alvaro Gonzalez and was shown a straight card to the Brazilian striker.

After the match, Neymar took to Twitter to reveal the truth of the incident. He claimed that the 30-year-old Spaniard had given racist comments to the Brazilian.

The 28-year-old Brazilian’s Tweet stated, “VAR spotting my ‘attack’ is easy, Now I want to see it pick up the image of the racist calling me “MONO HIJO DE PUTA” (monkey motherfucker). That’s what I want to see. And then?

“I do a rainbow flick, you punish me .. For a slap, I get sent off … what about them? What then?”

Alvaro Gonzalez, the Marseille player was soon to respond and defend himself. He denied making racist marks as the 28 year old Brazilian accused him earlier.

The Spaniard Tweeted explaining there is no room for racism and said that losing on the pitch is to be accepted.

He posted, “There is no place for racism. A clean career and with many team-mates and friends on a day to day basis. Sometimes you have to learn how to lose and accept it on the field. Incredible three points today, Allez l’OM thank you family,”

A total of 17 cards were shown including 5 red cards, which itself is a record for Ligue 1. The fierce rivalry and hatred for each other still remain between PSG and Marseille.
