Chaos in Marseille causes PSG shirts ban
Public disturbances and violence took place in Marseille ahead of Champions League final that will take place in Lisbon. Marseille have won the Champions League final 1993 in a controversial manner. They are the only French team till date to have won the European competition.
The local police have confirmed that they will ban the PSG shirts in some areas to the city in order to avoid any chaos. The wearing of a simple scarf or any other pattern in Parisian colors is strictly prohibited.
The enmity of the fans of both the side are so much so that French interior Ministry issues travel bans for away fans whenever the clubs face each other at Velodrome stadium in Marseille. The police arrest PSG fans if any available at the stadium.
The Bouches-du-Rhone police have confirmed that the ban will be implemented from 15.00 local time on Sunday afternoon to 03.00 Monday morning. They said, “There is strong animosity on the part of some Marseilles residents, supporters or not, toward the PSG team, in contradiction with any sporting spirit.”

Cet arrêté avait pour seul objet la protection des supporters parisiens, et ne visait en aucun cas à restreindre la liberté de circulation.

French giants, Paris Saint Germain have clean sweeped the German side, RB Leipzig 3-0 in the semi final on Tuesday evening and qualified for the Champions League Final and will be making the appearance in the final for the first time.
Similar incidents took place in Marseille when a mob of more than 250 people turned up near Old Port. Two people with PSG shirts were assaulted badly. One was even made to take off the jersey of PSG and another one was brutally attacked by a Marseille fan, who was later arrested. AFP claimed that, there were “Attempts to intimidate them in order to interrupt the broadcasting of the match.”
Ligue 1 winners, Paris Saint Germain are set to face Bundesliga Champions, Bayern Munich in a mouthwatering fixture. Bayern Munich have dumped the French side, Lyon out of the Champions League in a 3-0 victory and qualified for the final.
Bayern Munich last won the Champions League in 2013 after they defeated their rivals, Borussia Dortmund.
It is to be seen how PSG players come up against the German side, provided the chaos occurring in Marseille. It would be a breathtaking contest when Thomas Tuchel’s PSG take on Hansi Flick’s Bayern Munich.
