The first matchday of Week 3 of the 2021-22 NBA season has concluded and it’s time to take a look back at the scores and highlights of the matches and standings of the teams.

Pistons 89 – 117 Bucks 

Detriot Pistons’ poor offensive slump continued as defending champions Milwaukee Bucks secured a comfortable win. The Bucks ended their three-match losing run in the process as well.

Giannis Antetokounmpo top scored with 28 points and led in assists and rebounds for the team as well. The Pistons were unable to outscore the hosts in any of the four quarters.

Mavericks 110 – 125 Heat 

Both teams have found their stride early into the season after being eliminated in the first round of the playoffs last season. In this encounter, the Heat stretched their record to 6-1 with a win over Dallas Mavericks.

After trailing by six points in the first quarter, the Heat came back hard in the second quarter and notched 46 points. Luka Doncic top-scored in the contest by posting 33 points but the visitors had four players who scored over 20 points with Tyler Herro leading the charts on a 25-point display.

Jazz 119 – 113 Kings 

Utah Jazz reached the top of the Western Conference table after a tight win over Sacramento Kings. Donovan Mitchell amassed 36 points while Rudy Gobert chipped in with 20 rebounds. Mike Conley posted 30 points as well for the win.

Suns 112 – 100 Pelicans

Phoenix Suns picked up a much-needed win, but at the expense of the New Orleans Pelicans, who continue to languish at the bottom.

The Suns were facing a 14-point deficit after the end of the first quarter but they slowly made their way back and exploded in the final quarter to walk away with the win.

Chris Paul notched a staggering 18 assists as Devin Booker posted 18 points for his team.

Lakers 119 – 117 Rockets

The Lakers have amassed momentum with their recent set of results and this one marks one of the most satisfying contests so far. The Big 3 of LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook were all at their best and scored a combined 84 points to narrowly secure the win.

Christain Wood made his presence known with his 26-point, 16 rebound display, but it proved to be vain in the end.
