The final matchday of Week 2 of the 2021-22 NBA season has concluded and it’s time to take a look back at the scores and highlights of the matches and standings of the teams.

76ers 113 -103 Trailblazers 

Philadelphia 76ers secured the 5th win of their season and they had to do it without Joel Embiid or Tobias Harris among their ranks on the court. Seth Curry top-scored with 23 points for the win.

Portland Trailblazers’ inconsistent start to the season prolonged as they recorded their second successive defeat. CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard scored 20 points apiece.

Hornets 110 – 113 Cavaliers 

Charlotte Hornets suffered an agonizing loss at the hands of the Cleveland Cavaliers at home. The visiting side took the contest by storm in the very first quarter by amassing 40 points.

The Hornets fought back hard, especially in the fourth quarter, but fell short by 3 points. LaMelo Ball posted 30 points in a losing cause while Jarrett Allen recorded 24 points and 16 assists.

Pacers 131 – 118 Spurs 

With both sides struggling at the start of the season, the Pacers pulled out a solid performance for their second win. Indiana Pacers posted 78 points in the first half and gained a 22 point lead at the break.

Domantas Sabonis scored 24 points and gathered 13 rebounds to his name. No SPurs player was able to score 20 points.

Celtics 114 -128 Bulls 

Chicago Bulls pulled out an exceptional comeback at the TD Garden against Boston Celtics. The home side were well poised for a win after the third quarter with a 19-point lead.

The Bulls proceeded to outscore Celtics 39-11 in the final quarter to walk out as the winners and take their impressive start to the season to 6-1. DeMar DeRozan emerged as the top scorer with 37 points. Zach LaVine played the perfect ally with 26 points.

Jayson Tatum notched 20 points while Jaylen Brown scored 28 to top score for the Celtics.

Hawks 118 – 111 Wizards 

Two of the most prominent guards in the league faced off in Atlanta in what turned out to be an invigorating contest. The Hawks blazed away with a 13-point lead in the first quarter before Washington Wizards fought back hard to level things up at half-time.

Trae Young posted 26 points for the Hawks while Bradley Beal notched 24 points for the visitors.

Knicks 104 -113 Raptors 

New York Knicks and Toronto Raptors commemorated the first game anniversary on the 75th year of the league with a contest at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks’ flying start was brought to a halt by the Raptors.

RJ Barrett and Julius Randle combined to post 49 points but they had no reply against Raptors’ OG Anunoby, who stole the show with 36 points.

 Grizzlies 106 – 97 Nuggets 

Ja Morant continues to sizzle with yet another dominant display that yielded 26 points for the win. The visiting Denver Nuggets were led by Nikola Jokic’s 23 points but stumbled in the third quarter to record their third loss of the season.

Timberwolves 97 – 115 Magic 

Minnesota Timberwolves suffered a shocking blowout loss to Orland Magic at home. Karl Anthony-Towns and Anthony Edwards made their presence known with a combined display of 47 points but D’Angelo Russell had an outing to forget.

Cole Anthony recorded 30 points and Franz Wagner scored 28 points to lead Magic to their second win out of eight matches this season.

Clippers 99 -94 Thunder

Los Angeles Clippers were made to work to overcome the struggling Oklahoma City Thunder at home. The hosts were handed an early scare with Thunder romping away with a 9 point lead in the first quarter with the Clippers only scoring 14 off it.

Paul George top-scored with 32 points against his former team and Shai Gilgeous Alexander continued to impress with yet another solid outing worth 28 points.
