The fifth matchday of Week 13 of the 2020-21 NBA season has concluded and it’s time to take a look back at the scores and highlights of the matches and standings of the teams.
Lakers 94 – 99 Hawks
On top of losing LeBron James indefinitely after he sprained his ankle, Los Angeles Lakers succumbed to an upset against Atlanta Hawks at the Staples Center.
John Collins led the visitors to their 8th straight victory of this NBA season with 27 points and 16 rebounds, while another double-double was registered by Trae Young. Clint Capela posted 16 rebounds.
76ers 129 – 105 Kings
Coming off of a defeat against the Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers took the pace right from the start with a 41-point Q1 to outflank Sacramento Kings at the Wells Fargo Center.
Tobias Harris scored 29 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 assists, while Shake Milton added 28 points. Dwight Howard posted a double-double with 13 rebounds for 10 points. Buddy Hield topped the Kings scoring with 25.
Grizzlies 111 – 103 Warriors
Memphis Grizzlies avenged their previous defeat in the rematch against a Steph Curry less Golden State Warriors at the FedExForum.
Dillon Brooks and Jonas Valančiūnas tied the scores at 19 for the hosts, with the latter adding in 15 rebounds. Brandon Clarke landed 16 points off the bench, while Jordan Poole topped the visitors with a score of 26.
Bucks 120 – 113 Spurs
A massive second quarter lead paddled Milwaukee Bucks to victory till the end including a massive forth quarter tussle against San Antonio Spurs at the Fiserv Forum.
Giannis scored 26 points along with 8 rebounds and 15 assists, while Khris Middleton posted 23 points. Donte DiVincenzo added his double-double for the hosts, while Lonnie Walker scored 31 points for the Spurs.
Clippers 125 – 98 Hornets
Los Angeles Clippers took control of the first half, which made the difference against a gassed-out Charlotte Hornets at Staples Center.
Seven players posted scores in double digits for the hosts, with Paul George leading the way with 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 10 assists. Kawhi Leonard landed 17 points, while Miles Bridges topped the visitors’ scoreboard with 21.
