Amen Thompson & Terry Rozier’s Incident
The altercation occurred in the final minutes of the game, with the Heat leading 99-94. Thompson initiated the confrontation by grabbing Tyler Herro’s jersey and throwing him to the ground. Rozier quickly joined the fray, leading to both players and Rockets assistant coach Ben Sullivan being ejected. The chaos escalated as players from both teams joined in, resulting in a total of six ejections.
Player Reactions
After the game, Herro commented on the incident, stating, “Just two competitors going at it, playing basketball. Guess that’s what happens when someone’s scoring, throwing dimes, doing the whole thing. I’d get mad too.” Thompson, on the other hand, had a frustrating game, posting only five points, five rebounds, and five assists.
Consequences
As a result of the suspensions, Thompson will miss two crucial games against the Dallas Mavericks and Boston Celtics. Rozier will sit out the Heat’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans. The fines imposed on Green, Herro, and Udoka reflect the seriousness of the incident and the league’s commitment to maintaining sportsmanship.
