Los Angeles Lakers now lead the series 1-0 with an opulent victory against Miami Heat 116-98, with a scintillating performance from Anthony Davis in the NBA Finals Game 1 at the Arena in Bay Lake.
Despite trailing behind Heat by 13 points in the 1st quarter, Lakers turned the tables with a 30 point turnaround, thanks to 11 three-pointers before the 2nd half.
Anthony Davis makes a mark in his NBA Finals debut
Appearing in his 1st ever Finals, Anthony Davis was the star of the night. The LAL forward became the top scorer of the game with 34 points, including two 3-pointers, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. He also became the first Lakers player since Kobe Bryant to score over 30 points in the Finals.
“We came out slow,” the 27-year-old said after the win, “(If)we want to win this series and become champions we have to play better from the start.”

Appearing in his 50th NBA Finals, Lakers stalwart LeBron James landed 25 points, which included 13 rebounds and 9 assists.
“I liked the way we played in that second, third quarter. But the way we ended, that’s unacceptable,” James was quoted on the team’s official Twitter handle.

Double trouble for Spoelstra as Heat suffers two injuries
In addition to a lacklustre defeat and training behind LAL, Heat lost their point guard Goran Dragic and forward Bam Adebayo due to injuries mid-game. Dragic left in the 2nd quarter after sustaining foot injury and after two collisions with Lakers centre Dwight Howard, Adebayo walked off with a shoulder strain.

The warm-up shirts of players prior to the match was inscribed with “VOTE”, and the ex-POTUS showed appreciation towards the first-time poll workers of the upcoming election day on 3rd November.
“I appreciate you and hopefully all NBA fans will appreciate you when they see those shorter lines at the polling places,” said Obama in a clip he tweeted.
