Although there is no response from Klitschko yet, he has shown interest in the same in the past, and not just making a comeback to the sport, but also in becoming a champion once again.

“I train regularly. Almost every day, “ the 1996 Olympics Games gold medalist had revealed to Fox Sports’ Fair Game in an interview three years ago, “I need it like the air to breathe. I enjoy doing sports.” (As of now) I still have it, but I do not know how long I can keep this form. It must be something extraordinary. Incredible.

Klitschko becoming a world title after comeback will break George Foreman’s record

Klitschko is currently 45, while Briggs is 49. A fight between the two veterans will surely be one mouth watering contest for the boxing fans all around the globe, but what’s more remarkable, if Klitschko indeed manages to clinch a world title at this age, he would break George Foreman’s record.

“But if I can become a 45-year-old, a 46-year-old, and if I’ve still got it. If I still have the sparks in my stomach, I would think that I could break the record and become the oldest heavyweight champion at this extraordinary moment,” Klitschko had acknowledged back then, “I mean, obviously, now there is only one guy, George Foreman. But by then, I’ll think about it.”

Foreman had won the IBF and WBA belts at the age of 45 years and 299 days against Michael Moorer in November 1994, making him the oldest world champion boxer ever, a record that still holds today.

To break Foreman’s record, the 2021 boxing Hall of Fame inductee will have to assert peak form with the gloves at this age and will have to go against the top contenders of the heavyweight division at the moment, Fury and Joshua, both of whom are his former adversaries.

Do you think Klitschko will make his return to boxing? What are the chances he wins a world title again? Let us know in the comments below.
