King of the Table, the premium arm wrestling event series returned with its seventh installment- King of the Table 7 on Saturday, the 24th of June in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The main event featured a super match between Devon Larratt and Dave Chaffee, for the “King of North America” title and it was Larratt, who dominated Chaffee to a 6-0 victory to clinch the title.
The seventh edition of King of the Table, like its predecessors, features another star-studded lineup. Aside from the captivating main event of Larratt vs. Chaffee, the undercard featured the return of Turkish arm wrestling icon Engin Terzi against Latvian pulling superstar Raimonds Liepins aka “Coach Rey”. A World Left Hand title super match featuring a contest between Artyom Morozov and Corey West was also featured on the undercard.
Engin Terzi vs. Coach Rey
The opening match of the night featured the return of Turkish arm wrestling icon Engin Terzi, against Latvian pulling superstar Raimonds Liepins aka “Coach Rey”. The latter was last seen in action against Doug Erlich at East vs West 6 back in January this year, where he lost 0-3.
The match saw Terzi dominating as everyone expected. The veteran puller pinned Liepins throughout the first five rounds en route to a potential 6-0 whitewash, but after getting injured in the last round, it went to Liepins making the final scoreline 5-1.
Artyom Morozov vs. Corey West
The second showdown of the night featured Kazakhstan’s Artyom Morozov, returning after his superb 3-1 win over Georgia’s Revaz Lutidze at East vs West 5 last November. He took on American puller Corey West for the World Left Hand title.
The title match had become a completely one-sided affair, as Morozon had full control of West and his arm throughout the six rounds, dominating his opponent throughout to a 6-0 thrashing and winning the World Left Hand title.
Devon Larratt vs. Dave Chaffee
The spectacular main event and final super match of the night saw the legendary Devon Larratt and Dave Chaffee locking arms for the “King of North America” title.
Coming off a 2-3 loss to Genadi Kvikvinia in the main event of East vs West 7 last month, “No Limits” Larratt was expected to be hungry for a return to winning ways, against Chaffee, the winner of the seven round thriller main event at King of the Table 5.
Right from the start, the match turned out to be another one-sided affair as Larratt had complete hand control over Dave. Despite a couple of fouls and false starts, it was the Canadian securing the pins each and every round.
The biggest counter effort from Chaffee was seen in the final round when he almost pinned Larratt to the pad, but due to the fatigue of the match he failed to hold on, and the final round of the match went to Larratt as well and with a clean 6-0 win, he clinched the “King of North America” title.
