The NFL has been maintaining strict COVID-19 protocols for the ongoing season, which include prohibition from being present in any indoor gathering over 10 people, while another one is being in public without wearing a mask.
Considering Josh Hawkins, who has breached both of these protocols, Panthers head coach Matt Rhule decided to release the player from the practice squad to prevent any risk of virus contraction in the squad and was quoted “I would just say we thought it was in the best interest of the team.”
Recently, New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones and running back Saquon Barkley were seen at an indoor party without wearing masks. However, the team is currently investigating the situation and has not taken any decision regarding the players as of now.
