Lando Norris, the English Formula 1 racer was involved in a collision with the Canadian racer, Lance Stroll in the Portuguese Grand Prix on Sunday, October 25 in Portimao. The McLaren’s racer apologized on social media for the harsh comments that he made following the race.

Lando Norris apologizes for the careless remarks

Lando Norris, who finished the race in the thirteenth position on Sunday took to his Twitter handle on Tuesday and asked for forgiveness for the harsh remarks that he made towards the racer, Lance Stroll, whom he collided with. However, he did not mention any name in the Tweet.

Lando Norris wrote, “I owe an apology. I’ve been stupid and careless with some things I’ve said lately in media and interviews, and haven’t shown the respect I should have to certain people.”

He continued, “I’m not that kind of person, so know I should apologise to them but also everyone reading/listening. Sorry.”

The collision in the early stage of the race caused Lando Norris to lose out on scoring points.

Stroll crashed with Norris on the outside on the run to Turn 1, with Norris having at least half his McLaren on the inside.

Following the race, Norris said, “I don’t know what he was doing really. He went to the left, which I was quite surprised by when he could have very easily could have gone to the inside.”

He continued, “I was easily halfway alongside and he just turns in. He obviously didn’t learn from Friday, but he doesn’t seem to learn from anything he does.”

Norris will make sure that in the future races he stays away from Stroll.

“It happens a lot with him so I just need to make sure I stay away next time”, said Norris.

While Lance Stroll also had his say on the crash. He called the situation to be awkward as Norris was driving in the middle of the track. He wasn’t sure if Norris would go inside or stay on the line.

He explained, “I had to make a split second decision, and I was on the outside over the kerb, and from there, I kinda turned into the corner, it wasn’t enough room for both of us.”

He added: “It is a shame our race ended like that, we were really in a good position to score some good points. A tough result to swallow.”

Norris finished the race 13th while Stroll had to survive the race after the crash. Lewis Hamilton wrote history winning the Portuguese GP.
