Han Kwang-song, the Juventus striker’s switch to the Qatari side Al-Duhail may cause serious problems for Juventus as this transfer move violates the United Nations resolutions, which prohibits North Korean International to work overseas.
Han Kwang-song’s transfer switch inducing trouble for Juventus
Han Kwang-song, the North Korean International completed his move to Al-Duhail from Juventus in January this year.
United Nations sanction against North Korea stated that the member states were supposed to evict the North Koreans to their country who were working overseas.
The Security Council experts stated that the transfer move of the forward is breaching the United Nations resolutions against North Korea for failing to give up its nuclear program.
Italy was informed in January about the matter but “the transfer has not been cancelled.”
It was reported that “The Council has again reported to Qatar the relevant resolutions relating to this case”
Han Kwang song was signed by Juventus in the last year summer transfer window. During his time at the club, he was not handed a spot in the senior squad. However, he was moved to the Under-23s.
He made twenty appearances for the Under-23s playing the Serie C, the third tier level of football in Italy. Playing for the reserves team, Han Kwang-song netted one goal and provided two assists.
The signing of the 22-year-old striker was acquired by the defending Champions of Qatar Stars League, Al-Duhail for a deal worth €5 million. The Qatari side also added Mario Mandzukic and Medhi Benatia from Juventus to their acquisition list.
The North Korean International made his debut for the club in Qatar Stars League in a 3-1 victory over Al-Arabi.
He has made twelve appearances for the side in which in netted three goals. He scored the only goal of the match against Al-Wakrah which marked his first goal for the club.
The former Juventus player also scored goals in back to back matches against Al-Shahania and Al-Sailiya.
