Minshew was injured on a sack by Broncos linebackers Cody Barton and Jonathon Cooper. As he scrambled to avoid pressure, Minshew landed awkwardly on his left shoulder, resulting in the broken collarbone. He was visibly in pain and was unable to continue playing. The Raiders’ medical staff attended to him on the field, and he was later taken to the locker room.

Impact on the Raiders

With Minshew out for the rest of the season, the Raiders are left with limited options at quarterback. Desmond Ridder, who replaced Minshew in the game, completed 5 of 10 passes for 64 yards but also lost a critical fumble. Aidan O’Connell, who has been on injured reserve with a thumb injury, is eligible to return, but the team’s quarterback situation remains precarious.

Coach’s Response

Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce provided a brief update on Minshew’s status, indicating that the injury does not look good. Pierce acknowledged the challenges ahead, especially with a short week and a game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday. The team will need to make quick decisions on their quarterback lineup.
